DAMO Setup Woes

I’ve installed DAMO 8.0.2 GOLD successfully. Each time I try to and configure it to create a MAPI profile, the setup window asks for my name and Domino server name, which it seems to recognize (no error message at least). Next, it asks me for my user.id file (which we keep in the user’s c:\notes\data folder at my organization). Again, it seems to be happy and offers to copy it to the DAMO data directory. Next, I get a prompt to enter my Domino password and it seems to recognize my username and accept my password. I see a notification that setup is complete and ready to create and configure a MAPI profile. So, I click Finish.

Immediately thereafter, I get a Domino/Notes crash notification. If I try to launch Outlook, I get a Choose Profile prompt, and my Notes MAPI profile is listed (Greg Edwards’s mail on XXX). If I select it then the following message is displayed:

“This database is currently in use by another person or process, and cannot be accessed at this time. In order to share a Notes database, it must be accessed via a Domino Server by all users of the database.”

And then Outlook promptly crashes.

I couldn’t attach the .log and .dmp files as requested, but I’ll happily send them if you need them.

Subject: Any Resolution?

Were you able to figure anything out as to this error? I was also receiving the same error, and then did “something” and it was resolved. I had to re-image my PC and now this error is coming back and I don’t know how to resolve it.

Subject: Re: Crash when creating DAMO profile

If you’re running Outlook 2007, service pack 2, you have two options:

  1. roll back to service pack 1, or

  2. contact IBM support to get DAMO 8.02, Interim Fix 5
