I installed DAMO 7.0.3 for someone using Outlook 2003 with a Domino 8.0.2 server. The install went fine, but the initialization is extremely slow. It’s on the “updating unread marks” part and after almost a week it’s not even at 40% done. His mail file is incredibly large at around 4 GB, but still, should it take this long? This is pathetic.

I take it this is the OUTLOOK send and receive that is stuck at 40%…
I have DAMO running on large mail file and YES it is slow but it should not be that slow.
Have you tried anything to fix the issue? ie reinstall the DAMO client… or outlook etc?

Nothing’s stuck, actually; it’s just extremely slow. the send/receive window comes up for a while, then disappears and the progress of the initialization comes up. What it’s taking forever on, it seems, is “updating unread items”. At this point it will take weeks. I don’t know anything to fix it, and not sure reinstalling DAMO will help since it’s actually working.
