Customize the Calendar "Filter By" list?

I’d like to be able to quickly and easily filter my calendar views by category. A couple thoughts would be to:

  1. Add a category item in the “Filter By” list:

  2. Be able to turn a category on and off via the “Show Calendars” list:

Any ideas?

Subject: Filter by category enhancement request

There is an enhancement request for the Category option to be included in the Filter By menu. There is a reasonable chance that it will be included in a future 8.5.x release.
