Custom Twisties & View Performance

More a curiosity- I have taken the custom twistie out (not even close to dimensions required, but I didn’t do it) I looked for an answer in designer help and here- I noticed today that one of the views in 20 gb 500k document database had a custom twistie in a categorized view. There are 50k docs in the view- and A LOT of cateories- the twistie was 250 bytes. So, the question is, let’s say there are 1000 categories (quite posible)- how does that 250 byte image effect performance? Intuitively I say it HAS to! AND, I have taken it out and am using the standard notes arrow- Anyone know?

Once the twistie image is in memory, I don’t see why it should take any longer to paint your custom image than it does the built-in bitmap, provided the custom bitmap is the right size that it doesn’t have to be scaled every time it’s displayed.
