Custom Controls cannot be opened directly - 8.5.1

Hi,

I noticed that in 8.5.1 you cannot open a custom control directly anymore, I get the following error message:

Custom Controls cannot be opened directly, but must be referenced from an XPage.

I think from a debugging/testing point of view this is far from optimal.

I checked and it looks that there’s not even a parameter to control it, if it’s a custom control then that’s what you get.

Any ideas?
