Is it possible to build a custom column function similar to the “Totals” in Column properties in a view?
I have a percentage column (P) in a view that performs a calculation on two other columns (A & B). As A & B are collapsed they are totaled by selecting Totals:Total in column properties. I would like to perform the same calculation (P) on columns A & B as they are collapsed.

Are you saying you want something like this?
A
B
Total of A and B
5
6
11
Not sure I’m following…

What do you mean by collapsed? Also, is this for Notes or the web? If for the web, are you using html views, a java applet, or letting Domino render the view?
To answer what I THINK is your question, no, you cannot build a custom column total function. If you have categories that you want both a total and a percentage of to display in the view, the only way I know of to do this in Notes views with categories (not html views you build yourself… might be possible to do the calculations yourself in that case) is to create two sets of views, since you can only apply one of the column total options to each column. If the columns involved are NOT categorized, it would be possible to have two sets of columns in the same view with different column total calculations.

Thanks guys.
This is tough to explain. It’s for the web. Joel is on the right track. I have categories that expand from:
Year → month → client:
Column A = Amount
Column B = Mark up/down
Column P = collection percentage ie p = (A/(a-b)) * 100
Client has values for A, B and P is calculated with the above function
Month has client totals for A and B
Year has month totals A and B
I’m pretty sure that I will have to create two sets of views…
