Out of the blue, started receiving a curious new error in LN 7.0.2 running on a Vista box. The error box appears after putting in password.Elements of the error are:
(big red X) nlnotes.exe
Assert in LSP
g_socket_data.Lookup(s)==0
capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches.cpp:1313
Abort Retry Ignore
Sometimes Retry or Ignore will allow to continue, but usually not, coming up instead with the new Lotus Notes ‘gathering information for your Administrator’ message. Total reinstall of Notes did not change anything. I know 7.0.2 on Vista is not ‘officially’ supported, but if anyone has seen this error or has a clue as to its meaning, I’d certainly appreciate hearing from you.
I don’t understand your response. This is happening on an XP box upgraded to Vista. LN ran fine until the one day it just started giving this error message.
Sorry that I can’t shed any light on your situation, but a bit of clarification for the future: if you see in the title it means “end of message” meaning they didn’t put anything in the body, just whatever it says in the title. I hate those, too.
If you have been running 7.0.2 on Vista, might the error have been introduced by a recent Microsoft Update. One of my customers is also receiving the “Assert in LFP” error on a recently purchased Vista laptop. Could someone from Lotus respond? Should we wait to purchase Vista machines in Sept when 7.0.3 is available?
Todd,The strange thing about this is, not all Vista boxes exhibit this bizarre behavior. I have one where Vista and LN 7.0.2 play very nice. Another one gives me the error. I probably know what the Lotus folks would say…‘Wait for 7.0.3.’ We’ll probably have Version 8 before then !!
Try removing the Google Desktop program. That worked for me after I received a new laptop with Vista and Google Desktop automatically installed. After removing Google Desktop Domino worked fine.
