I need to build a simple POP system for a client and they don’t want or care to build the credit card processing into the application. They simply want to use a credit card swiper and process the transaction but they would like to know if there is some way to integrate this card swiper with Lotus Notes databases as to capture the reference number and success/failure to the document in the database. Is there anyone who has done something like this? Is it worth doing? Any hints as to how to go about it? Maybe better yet… any alternatives that would be viable. The application will only be Notes client based.
