we have two domino 7.0.2 servers that have 4000 users each. The name of the servers are test1/domino and test2/domino.Now we have installed a new domino server of version 8.5.The name of the new server is test/domino.We have then created the replica of all the 4000 mail files to the new server. My query is how can we change the domino server name(ACL) of all the 4000 users from test1/domino to test/domino and test2/domino to test/domino.Also these changes will be highlighted to the person document of all the users(Mail server->test/domino).
Subject: Move users?
Hi
Domino has a function to do this. Move User…
Right click on a user in the address book and select Move. Choose the server you want this user to be in and other options as you wish and Adminp will take care of the rest (create replicas, change user location document, change user document etc… )

If all threee server names are listed in the “LocalDomainServers” group then you shouldn’t have to make any ACL changes. If not then you need to add the new server name by selecting the mail files in Domino Administrator and adding the new server name and appropriate ACL. To change the server name on the person doc it is best to create an agent but test in a test environment before using in production.
Subject: creating an agent to change the server name in person doc
Thanks a lot,James.I am able to add the server the ACL list for all the users. Can you kindly tell me the steps for creating an agent that will change the server name in the person document of all the users.
Thanks in advance.
Subject: Simple Agent
Just create an agent that replaces the value of the server field with the new server name
Subject: Local address book
You also need to change the mail server name in the location docs in the users local address books

You can move them to the new server by using Domino Administrator and the “move” command. This will create the new replica if needed, update the person document, and update the location document.
