Creating New User

Hi,

When we create a new user or register a new user in Lotus Domino 8.5, where this information is kept?

For example: Is it kept inside any database nsf?

Thanks

Subject: There are multiple options; we recommend the Notes ID vault.

You can save the ID file to your local hard drive, you can attach it to the public directory, you can save it into the Notes ID vault (if you have one configured, this will be automatic), and you can save it to the user’s mail file (if this is an iNotes user).

We recommend against saving ID files in the public directory; the option that will give you the best combination of security and convenience would be to create a Notes ID vault and register users into the vault.

You can find a great deal of information about the vault on the N/D wiki:

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/archive?openview&title=Notes%20ID%20Vault&type=cat&cat=null&tag=Notes%20ID%20Vault

Hope that helps,

Subject: Notes Id in Names.nsf

Hello,

Whenever a new notes user is created in notes environment the user id along with all the information is stored in names.nsf.You can copy the same id file on your hard drive and can use it as per your need.
