Creating new memo in mail-in database

In my mail-in db the New message button creates a new email, but doesn’t send the email from the db owner (the mail-in db name).

However, if I have a categorised view in my mail-in db and have a category selected and then use the new message action the email does get sent from the mail-in name, sent by the current user. This is how I expect it to work in all cases, ‘normal’ mail files work like this (eg for PAs sending from managers’ mailfiles)

The only difference is that the mail-in db name is not a real user, but it is a hierarchical name, and as I say it can work in certain circumstances

Thanks for any suggestions

Subject: Questions

I have the following questions:

Can you provide a copy of a note sent with the wrong the data/owner information on it?

Can you provide a copy made while selecting a category in this mail db with the right data/owner information on it.

Is it possible to get a copy of the button or the code from the button to see what it is doing?

Subject: Answers

I can’t provide a copy of a document on the forum, and I don’t use the client so can’t even do a screenshot.

For more information though, what happens when I create a new memo and a document is highlighted is that in the show sender information area it shows the mail-in name. This then changes when hitting send to my name.

If I create the memo and have a category selected the sender information is shown as the mail-in name sent by me, and this then is how the email is sent.

The action is simply @command([Compose];“Memo”), same as the normal mail action

Thanks

Dan

Subject: found the problem

I’d made some small design changes to the memo form, and forgotten that one thing I’d done is checked the inherit values option, which caused problems with the Principal field

Subject: Calendar profile

The standard mailtemplate uses the calendarprofile to evaluate the senders name, e.g

From : My Mail-InDB/org/whatever

Send by : Frithjof Thaden/org/whatever
