We want to generate standard letters, as Notes documents from a template document stored in the database. This is straight-forward. However, there is also a requirement that within the letter body there will be some paramaters e.g. Price, Client Name, Adviser (probably a maximum of 5 variables). The concept being is that the users can create their letter templates and identify where in the templates these variables which will be inherited from the selected document will be in the body. Does anyone know how this can be achieved? One thought I had was to define some standard tags which the user inserts into the body of the document e.g. ##price## and that this would be mapped to the field Price. Therefore in the script creating the letters it would need to search for all instances of tags and process them accordingly. This seems massively complext to what should (I think) have a much simpler solution?

The NotesRichTextRange.FindAndReplace method should do what you want.
