Creating Hotspot from Lotus Script

Hello ,

I’ve seen many entries for this topic in the forum , but could not help m much .

Problem is there is a requirement from the user that they want to send the Filepath as Hotspot link via mail and not a attachment . I managed to get hold of the Filepath , but how to create a HotSpot out of it, I’m bit struggling .

Any suggestions are most welcome .

Thanks in advance.

Tom

The easiest way to program it, is to have the hotspots pre-created manually and stored in rich text fields somewhere you can fetch them from. Then use AppendRTItem to add them to your message text.

If there are too many different files to do that, you could have one hotspot that is LS or formula, which refers to a hidden field in the memo; the hidden field would contain the filename. This is easy to do but doesn’t forward well.

You could use the Notes API or a 3rd-party tool such as the Midas toolkit (www.geniisoft.com).

Or, if you can express the hotspot in HTML, you can insert HTML passthru in the message body using the rich text classes.
