after upgrading to 8.5.1, if I create a new agent it defaults to lotusscript, and I no longer have the drop down at the top to choose formula language. Are others seeing this or did my install fail?
Subject: Re: creating agent in 8.5.1 Designer
It looks like the agent type (i.e. language) can’t be changed after the agent has been created any more, or at last not easily. It’s stored in the $AssistType field, so technically I guess you could hack that, or open it in a previous Domino Designer version.
I’m getting the option to select the type when I create the agent.
Subject: thanks
thank you for responding, I do not get it when creating a new agent, I’ll reinstall. Thanks!
Subject: Same problem here
I have just noticed the same problem after upgrading to 8.5.1. The only way I can create a formula agent is to copy an existing one and then modify it.
This is a pretty major thing to leave out!!!
Did you have any joy after re-installing?
Subject: I see it now
Okay so I see now that there is an option to choose type when you first create the agent and fill in the name and alias and comment. I guess I’m just used to being able to change it after it’s created.
But I have noticed another issue. If you create a LotusScript agent then you get the properties showing in the bottom pane - Eclipse style. And you can’t change the name of the agent there. You can only change the name of LS agents in the agents view by click dragging.
In the formula agents the properties come in the old fashioned pop up box and you can change the name of the agent there.
