I was wondering if is it possible to create a sub field, with in a field.
If there is please guide me as to how do I go about it.

Nobody can do that unless you explain what it is you are trying to accomplish.

I have an Industry field that needs to have a sub field called category. The Industry field is a dialog box and the category field you enter data into it.

That doesn’t explain what you want as a result, it explains how you were hoping to be able to do it. Since there is no such thing as a “subfield” in Notes (or in any other database), the way you were hoping to go about things just isn’t going to happen.
What we need to know is whether the industry falls into a category of industries, or whether your “category” is a subsector of the industry. You are going to need to use two different fields in any case, but how you arrange the fields depends on the answer to the question.
