I have to create a domino application similar to the troubleshooting section of the Help and Support Center of Windows XP/98SE etc. Where you can select an answer which leads to other questions or questions. ANd all this through the web.
How can I achieve this? Where must I start? It must be possible to return to the previous question or answer. And also show possible related question topics regarding the beginning question on the bottom of the page.
Subject: Creating a question/answer domino application
Thats a pretty broad question. Interested in outsourcing the job?
If not I guess a rough outline could be someting like…
A Question Form with multiple answers and a multi-value “Related Question-Answers” field. When you compose the questions you also pick all the other related Question-Answers that it will be associated with. (These will be lookups keys later on.) I’d keep this maintenance/authoring part in Notes.
Then you have the question webform with your answer options. Pick one and submit to an agent. That agent does a lookup and builds a follow-up page based on a database lookup using the Question-Selected Answer. Or perhaps this might instead be a form with an single category embedded view. (Always more than one way to go.)
You might hang on to the original/previous question as you repeat this process indefinitely by sticking it into a cookie or a user Profile document.
The real key here is the authoring part, where you associate a question with other question-answers. The rest is lookups.
