Creating a new replica for mail?

Hi,

One of user has a problem with her mail file. Some of the folders (about 50 of 350) went missing from the mail file. We are trying to find how the folders gone. She wants the same folder structure back in the mail file.

Since she has an old archive backup with the required folder structure, i made a new copy of the database with only the design elements. Now the new database has the folder structure and she is ready to copy paste all the mails from the corrupted database to the new database.

But how do i make this as the new replica of her mail file on the server? Will it work if i replace the current local mail file with the new one?

Or is there any other way by which i can create a folder structure easily?

Thanks.

in the archive db create an agent, simple action, copy to database and choose the user’s production mail file as the destination db. Now in the archive db open the hidden view ($FolderInfo). To open hidden folders hold down Ctrl/Shift and chose View > Go to … from the action menu. Once you have the view open place a check mark next to ONLY the documents representing the folders you want to restore back to the production mail file then run the agent you just created.

Thanks Paul for your response. I hope it will work.

But can i place a DB inside the mail folder(local) and make it a replica of the mail file on the server?
