Creating a form to calculate the total reminding quantity from two other previous form

HiI need to create a new form call Month End Inventory. This new form have to be a hidden form in the view category. The two other form is call Issusing and Receiving Inventory Record. What should i do to get the reminding quantities from the two other forms.

The issusing form is for drawing out stocks and receving is for topping up stocks.

I totally got no clue in doing this as lotusScript is not my pros. I am a networking student. So please pardon me. Thanks

I assume from the “hidden” mode, that the Month End inventory is simply used to calculate the remaining stock and has no other purpose.

What I’d suggest is just to create a “Totals” column instead.

In the second tab of the column properties at the bottom, you’ll see the Totals setting.

Create a categorized view (by Inventory number or product name or whatever the identier for the stock is).

e.g.

Item In Stock

Widget 12" red 20

   Stock 10

   Issued 20

   Received 30

I note that you don’t have a “Base” amount record, indicated as the Stock record above. If you only have issuing and receiving records, then your total is in fact only a delta.

Hi,

I don’t kind of get what you say.

But is like i have to get calculate the remaining products from both the issusing and receiving inventory form. In both the form it has the following:

issusing and receiving inventory:

-parts category

-buffer stoks part number

-Description

-brand

-recommended vendor

-quantity

-price

-balance quantity

-balance price

-transcation number

-Date

My most important task now is to create a new form (Month End Inventory) that can get the remaining total (add or substract from the two form). og coz i still need to have the above mention item in my end month inventory.

Sorry for the trouble.

Ivy,

My question is whether you actually needed to create another document to store the total.

You can calculate the total and display it in a view.

Say, for example, that you have the following:

Issuing

Part No: 001

Quantity: 5

Receiving:

Part No: 001

Quantity: 10

Create a view with the Select statement

Select form = “Issuing”:“Receiving”

This will select both types of forms.

In the first column, put the formula as the field ‘PartNo’, and make the column sorted and categorized.

In the second column, put the formula:

@If(form=“Issuing”; -Quantity; Quantity)

Set this column to represent a total, see the second Tab of the Column Properties.

You will now see a Total of the Quantities from both documents on the view.

If you still need to create an Inventory document, then you’ll have to create:

  1. A view sorted by partNo.

  2. An agent to go through the view and read the issuing/receiving records,

calculate the totals and create the document

Hi, I am very sorry for not asnwering your question. Currently i have two document(receiving and issuing inventory) so i need to create a new document (month end inventory) with the same fill as the two mention to get the total for the 2 document

Do you have a similar sample source code for this kind?

Thanks
