Dear allI have a problem with the look-up of the mail addresses from an Address Book Database.
I have created a personal Address Book by scratch, without the use on a standard template.
The purpose is to have a simple address book with the minimun details needed with our customers mail addresses.
I have created a “Person” form with the minimun needed Fields:
User Details:
FirstName
LastName
MailAddress
CompanyName
FullName (by default is always "Name & Surname")
Type (by default is always "Person")
The name of the fields is the same of a Domino Directory Person form.
I have copy and pasted the usual views used on the standard names.nsf database, as
($Users)
($People)
_People
($XACL)
($VIMPeopleAndGroups)
($VIMGroups)
($PeopleGroupsHier)
($PeopleGroupsFlat)
($NamesFieldLookup)
($LDAPS)
($LDAPHier)
($LDAPG)
($LDAPCN)
($LDAPAlias)
($Groups)
I have addedd it to the DA.nsf database.
When I write an e-mail to a contact of this address book Domino doesn’t make the address look up on this database.
Anyone knows what are the minimur requirements for a database to be used as Address Book? May be the problem is a missing views … of a missing field on the Person Form …
Subject: RE: Creating a Custom Personal Address Book
Dear Jeffrey, thanks for the suggestion. I have done so and I think the problem is on one or more fields required into the Person Form.
I come to thi conclusion because I did the following test:
Replace the design of My address book with the Domino Directory template.
I have created a contact
I have replaced again the template with My own
I have then opend a new mail and tried to send a mail to the contact I have created with the Form “Person” of the domino directory template and it works: it makes the lookup.
If I try the look up of a contact created with my “Person” form id doesn’t work.
Could it be that one or more needed fields are missing?
At this point it cannot be a view problem … since one contact works.
Making a one-to-one comparison of the fields of the two documents could be a solution … but I would have to add fields untill it works … then removing one by one untill I undestand wich are the minimun required fields … but it would take a life!
Any idea? … Suggestion? … Do anyone have an idea of the required fields for the “Person” form of a Domino Directory?
