Create replica problem with AdminP (ACL)

I did not tested it with enforced ACL but without it there are also some problems:

  1. If a receiving server already HAD manager rights (by groupp or wildcard) it overwrites the ACL in other replicas

1.1. It overwrites the history

1.2. It has a manager access without any role so it cannot replicate some notes with roles in Readers/Authors fields

  1. If a receiving server had no manager access to DB, then we have errors in replication because of roles: it has access to notes mentioned in 1.2. on other servers but not on itself.

I tested it on 6.5 server and seen only one difference:

The ACL log is overwritten with only one entry “ACL was copied from…” instead of multiple log lines for each ACL entry. The rest was the same.

Could You lpease indicate me the right SPR or explain the solution.

Was a full solution from IBM/Lotus ever provided for this issue ?

We have reecently built a ‘shadow’ (non-clustered) version of one of our app servers, both servers running R6.5.2FP1 on W2K.

We used the AdminP ‘Create replica’ function from the Admin Client to populate the shadow server with databases from the primary server, and were surprised to see the following as now the only entry in the ACL Logs of some databases on both the primary and shadow servers:

29/04/2005 02:30:06 PM GBAPP2/Server/RSA copied acl from GBAPP2/Server/RSA Intranet\Global\gbdnpd01.nsf

all previous ACL log entries have disappeared from db’s where the above is now showing.

Also it seems some Role privileges have been removed from ACL groups - the Roles are there, just no longer selected for certain groups.

IBM mentioned an SPR when responding to you originally, but that seemed more relevant to the disk-space issue. Did you ever get a solution relevant to your problem.
