Create Object From File

When creating an object from file in a notes document, for example, it the file was a MS Word document, consisting of 10 pages, why does the object file link, only show the 1st page, and not the consecutive pages? Has it always behaved this way? Is there a workaround, so that it shows all pages?

Subject: Always been that way. And its Microsofts problem. That is their OLE rendering format.
