Create an index for a report

Hi,

I would like to create an index page for a printed report I am producing using Lotus Notes (release 6) and would like to know if there is any mechanism for identifying page numbers to be included in an index for the report.

The report is generated by lotusscript by performing the following:

  1. The user selects a number of documents to collate into a report.

  2. For each document selected, capture specific richtext fields and append the fields with a title to a single rich text field on a report document.

  3. The final report document usually covers multiple pages, I would like to generate an index page to reference particular items within the report. Is there anyway to identify on which page number a particular item starts (when it is printed)?

It is fine to generate the index page after the final report is compiled, however, it needs to be an automated process from the users perspective.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated, including knowledge of any third party products which may be of assistance.
