Create a new UIdocument as a response that may or may not get saved

I have a document which has an action button on it that brings up a dialogbox with an embedded view in it. The user will select a document from the view and click on OK. I now have the UNID of the doc they selected. (This works fine).

Now, while still executing my lotusscript code, I want to create a new UI document which both inherits from, and is a response document to the one selected above. This document may or may not be saved by the user in the end.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When you launch the new UI-document, you’ll lose ‘contact’ with it.Save the Unid of the selected document to an environment variable, then read it in the UI-form being opened.

That way you can save it as a response in the Querysave or Postsave event using the MakeResponse method.
