Create a dummy mail file

Hi all,

Mail file is usually created when creating a user.

Can I just create a dummy mail file only(without creating ID) and map the file with a Notes Mail address and internet address(e.g. a company complaint mail box)?

Yes. Create the database from the Mail template (File->Database->New) in the desired location, then create a “Mail-in Database Document” (see Domino Administrator Help for more) to control the actual mail routing.
