CPU goes to 100% on Domino 8.5

Since we have upgraded from 8.02 to 8.5 we have seen the nserver task periodicly goto 100% utilitzation and stay there. The domino server looks like it continues to function normally, just much much slower. We have 4 other servers running 8.5 as well and this one server seems to be the only one having the problem.

The only thing that has changed it the upgrade to 8.5. We have run fixup/compact/updall on all of the major NSF files. There is nothing in the log to indicate any problems.

Any sugguestions would be appreciated.

Subject: Any luck yet?

we’re experiencing this across a few of our servers. Have you heard anything back yet?

Subject: Not Yet

We still have the CPU spike to 100%. It could go 2 weeks with no problem or it could go 2minutes. Seems to be totally random.

Subject: Please run “nsd -stacks”

… periodically during a run (like 3-5 times). This will create files under data\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT of the format nsd.log. If you can zip those up, we would like to see them.

Subject: I have the NSDs Where to Send?

I think I got really lucky on this one. I came in this morning and the system was running normally. I took and NSD and about 3 mintues after that something caused the NSERVER.EXE to peg the CPU again. So I was able to capture an NSD of that. The normal NSD took 41 seconds to process. When the CPU pegged, the second took over an hour and a half.

Where do I send these dumps?
