Corrupt .ID file?

I use Notes Administrator to create the user accounts for Notes. I have used the same process as I always have to complete this for some recent new users, but when setting up Notes on the users computer for the first time Notes can’t open the .ID file saying ‘Cannot open ID file’.

If I switch ID as admin I can change to the new users without any problems.

Can anyone point out why this is happening now when no changes have gone on?

Sounds like the standard XP problem where the user isn’t given write permissions to the Notes program or data directories.

I don’t follow, when you say you switch ID as admin and you can change to the new user without problems.

Do you mean you log on to the machine as local adminstrator and then the id works?

I mean as a Notes Admin on a machine which is locally logged in as admin.

I still do not follow, either the users.id file works or it does not. You either use the admin id or the users.id not both. Does the users.id file work? If so, how do you logon as the notes admin as the user?

The admin ID file is fine. When I am in Notes Admin, I can switch to the new users IDs fine and they work. When I log on locally to the new users machine to set up their notes client, when selecting the users .ID file, it says ‘Cannot open ID file’. And I don’t see why.

Is the ID on the user’s machine? Is it in a read only directory?
