Corrupt Bookmark Bar?

Hi All:

I saw one post on my similar issue, but did not see a resolution for it. I have one user that is receiving the following error when clicking on any icon on the bookmark bar. Same error occurs when he undocks and uses the Open button, or when we create a NEW folder on the bookmark bar:

“Windows cannot find ‘Notes:///8625725F00811643/MailFS?Frameset’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start Button and then click Search.” It’s definitely a Windows search error message, but where it’s coming from all of a sudden, I can’t detect.

I’ve deleted bookmark, cache, desktop files and even did a complete reinstall of his Notes client to no avail. He has to use the default Welcome page shortcut to access his mail\calendar\contacts, etc. Has anyone experienced this?

Many Thanks

Kimberly

I could be way off but it’s something to try. Make sure they can ping Notes and that it resolves.

Subject: SOLVED - Corrupt Bookmark Bar?

All:

The problem was the Microsoft Windows Desktop Search Add-in for LOtus Notes. Apparently it isn’t compatible with Notes versions 8 and up. There is a blurb about it on the Microsoft site. Once we uninstalled the add-in, bookmarks worked once again.

Thanks -
