Corporate Welcome Page - Design Elements

Hi,

When I create a custom form and frameset in the Corporate Welcome Page database and assign it to a user via a policy, the user gets the message unable to load frameset when they start the client. Basically, the end user will have a blank homepage until I copy the custom design elements into their local bookmarks database. Do I have to do this? Shouldn’t it just point to the page on the server database and get the design from there?

sorry, at this time changes to Design elements are not propagated automatically to a user’s bookmark file. Yes, you would need to copy them manually.

Thanks for the reply Debbie, we have 2000+ users and want to centrally manage the welcome page. Does this mean if we add any new pages, forms or framesets to the corporate database, we will have to some how push the design to users local bookmarks before they can see them.

Is there any other way to set this up so the page is managed centrally. What if I change the design of the local bookmarks (once) to load specific frames that point to the server and then I can just change them on the CWP db as required. Will this work?

Did you ever get a reply for this. I am also confused I thought that the whole point of Corporate Welcome pages were that they were managed in one point, if we have to copy them down to everyones local bookmarks it seems a bit pointless let alone frustrating!

Only new welcome pages that are created using the “Create new welcome page” button will be pushed down to users.

If I am understanding you correctly, changes to design elements will not be pushed down to users. As mentioned above, only the welcome page layout documents (created via the “Create new welcome page” button) are pushed to users.
