When you copy the selected items why is there a blank column in the beginning of each row? I have tried changing the view in a number of different ways and we still get the blank column.

Is it a categorized view?
Subject: Copy Selected as Table
If it is a categorized view, select the category name as well as the documents, the category will appear in the second column, right after the doclink column
Subject: Copy Selected as Table
This column usually contains doc links to the documents from the view.
