Copy images to rich text via LS

Hi !I have a question.

I have a list a documents in a notes application. For each of them i need to put an image from a network drive to the document.(so that we can see the image when we open the document)

can it be done via lotusscript or another way ?

(there are too many documents to copy/paste images manually and embedobject just show a link… )

thank you very much

If you don’t mind the screen flashing a bit, you can just open the documents on the front end with ws.EditDocument, then use the uidoc.Import to import the images, save and close again. If you need a backend solution, that is a bit harder, but I know of one.

Hi ty.In fact i’d prefer a backend solution. An agant that can run on night and import the images for ex.

Well, then you would be better off with a third party product, such as our Midas Rich Text LSX or Robert Ibsen Voith’s “Import Image 2 Lotus Notes”. With Midas, you would simply use the AppendGraphic method, and you could change the image to meet the dimensions you need or put it inside a table cell or whatever you need. I know less about the Import Image 2 Lotus Notes, but it should handle the image very flexibly from what I understand. Both cost money and are third party commercial products. If you decide to buy one, you might want to look at everything else each can do, because both are probably just fine for this solution, but with Midas you may find there is much more you are able to use the product for other than this one problem. On the other hand, if this is all you want to do, that product is more focused.

Thank you.

My boss won’t buy a software to do that, for sure.

Guess he will prefer us to open the 200-300 docs 1 by one to import the pictures…

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Too few to buy a solution for, too many to do happily. Best of luck, although for that few you could go back to the front end solution and let it flash at you.

Subject: If you don’t mind a third-party solution, take a look at “Import Image 2 Lotus Notes” …

It can import almost any image into rich text fields with lots of features and control. Head over to Voith's CODE :: Import Image 2 Lotus Notes if you are interested.

Another option, if you want to assume the pictures will always be available on the network drive, is to use passthru HTML to display an tag on your document that references them wherever they are stored.
