Copy from a field is gray

I think I have missed something as I learned to use LotusNotes …

I have made a database with forms with reader and author fields. People made their documents with this form and now the curious is that with some documents I can not copy the content of any field, but I can open, change and save this document. After saving the document I still can not copy from fields.

With copying I mean: open document, goto field, right mouse button, choose Copy … this one is gray and does not work.

As I think this might correlate with reader/author access - well I am manager of the database and also people who are authors can not copy from their own documents.

Any suggestions to this strange behavior?

Subject: Is there a $KeepPrivate field?

Can you check in the document properties if there is a $KeepPrivate field in the document? If yes and the value is “1” then copying, printing and forwarding is not possible.

ah yes! thank you so much for this hint. I already searched for KeepPrivate in the forum now and found some good information on how this field can come into the document. I think I have to change the ACL a little bit …
