Converting Notes database app to web application

Hi there,

I have a simple application to log man hours by employees on projects they work on. It has one form, 4 views, two pages, one frameset and three action buttons in all.

Currently it works fine via Notes Client. Is there a simple way to convert it so that it can used as a web based application as well.

Thanks for any help !

Ayaz,

First, just turn on http on the server and open it up with a browser. It’s likely that some functionality won’t work and that it’ll look ugly, but that’ll give you an indication of how much work is involved.

Typically, one has to recode some formulas and buttons, and views are usually worth recoding just for looks.

Very roughly, I estimate it to take x2 the time it would take to do the work for Notes Clients, although of course it’s all very variable.

raphael

It’s not likely you’lll be able to use it “as is.”

(1) If the domino application server is web enabled (or copy it to a web enabled domino server for testing)

(2) Give Anonymous access to the DB.

(3) Also check the maximum web access is not set to No Access

(4) What is the property launch setting for when opened in a browser.

(5) Go to the URL: http://server/path_to_nsf/filename.nsf
