we have some R6 databases and now we will convert it to R8 databases. But how can we do it. How is the syntax to convert from R6 to R8 database?
Subject: I will assume is mail databases…
If so, then you have two choices.
From the administrator or notes client, just make a replace design (Application - Replace Design)
Or you can use the Convert utility. Check the admin help.
It should be something like:
load convert mail/user1 * mail8.ntf

Close the lotus notes,
open the command prompt and go to the lotus notes directory
c:> cd “program files\ibm\lotus\notes”
type the command
nconvert mail<file name> StdR8mail mail8.ntf
This will ask the password, please enter lotus notes password.
Alternate method:
From the Domino Admin client, open the workspace
and open the mail file.
Rightclick on the bookmark and go to Application and Replace design, it will ask for the template name, provide the template name.
