Control over inbound addresses allowed

We are running domino 6.0.2 cf1 on iseries v5r2.

Currently my users can and should recieve emails sent to addresses in these forms:

firstname.lastname@domain.com

shortname@domain.com

employeenumber@domain.com

However, they also recieve spam at firstname@domain.com, if they have a unique first name.

In order to cut down on spam sent to firstname@domain.com, I would like to change a setting in the Configuration document. In the Router/SMTP tab, in the Basics tab, I would like to change Address Lookup from ‘Fullname then Local Part’ to ‘Fullname Only’.

However, when I do that, the router is rejecting any email unless it is in the firstname.lastname@domain.com format.

How can my users get email at the addresses they should, but also eliminate email sent to firstname@domain.com?

Thanks,

Jim
