Contract Work Needed: Export to PDF

Right now we have a custom agent to archive messages, and we are looking to streamline this operation with one that will export directly to PDF’s. I’m looking for a developer who can assist me with this, for a fee of course.

Here is the process I need to accomplish:

I would like to be inside my mailbox, select a series of messages and then run the archive agent. The agent would then prompt the user for a location to save to (with the ability to create a new folder), and then save each one as a separate PDF file and the attachments in a “_attachments” sub-directory. Finally the agent will then delete those selected messages from my mailbox.

A couple of requirements:

We do not have everyone setup with Adobe’s PDF writer software, so an open source solution to export the Notes messages to PDF will be needed.

When the person is viewing the PDF, any attachments are converted to links that when clicked will go to the _attachments directory.

These exported memos may be initially saved in one location (eg C:\Data\Client XYZ) but may be ultimately used in another, like a CD or DVD (eg D:) so the link path to the attachments must be dynamic.

The exported file name should be the subject line.

There will be many, many duplicate subject lines and attachments, so the export must append numbers for these instances (eg spreadsheet.xls, speadsheet2.xls, spreadsheet3.xls, etc).

I already have a vendor who has accomplished 90% of my needs with their product, but I’d prefer to have my end users click a Notes agent to start the process, as opposed to using an external application. (HOAX.COM: unravelling the truth from fiction, past to present...). I plan on using this method if I can’t have something made inside of Lotus Notes.

Please let me know if you can do this, the total cost, and the timing as well. I’m interested in flat-rates only, not an hourly charge.

I can be reached via:

Subject: Contract Work Needed: Export to PDF

Don’t know if this will help, but CutePDF will install as a printer on a computer, and anything that can be printed to a printer can be printed using that to a PDF file.

All you have to do is File Print, then select CutePDF Writer as the printer. It will then let you specify the location and file name of the resulting PDF.

Don’t know if this will help, but thought I’d throw it out to you.
