Everyone in the office uses Outlook client for mail, calendar and contact (Unix mail server).
We are installing Lotus Domino server to handle mail (instead of the Unix server), but everyone wants to continue to use Outlook client, since they are used to it.
We want to make sure that everyone’s email, calendar/schedule info, AND Contact information is backed up on the server. (as opposed to being saved in some local addressbook on each PC).
How do we setup Outlook and Domino to have the Contacts and Schedule/calendar info stored on the Domino server but still fully available from the Outlook client?
Second question:
If some users switch to the Lotus Client, how do we get their contacts to be saved on the server backup, since they are stored in a local (on each PC) names.nsf file? It seems really stupid that I would have to replicate that information to the server… Why can’t contact information be stored in one copy on the server (so it is easily accessible no matter what PC you log in from), like the mail file is?
