I am trying to consume a web service to authenticate a log in against a SQL database.
I have installed MSSOAP 3 toolkit on both my client and the Domino server.
I have the following in an agent in the database
Dim result
Objname = “MSSOAP.SoapClient”
Set SoapObj = CreateObject(objname)
Call SoapObj.mssoapinit (“http://si475/UserAuthentication/Authenticate.asmx?WSDL”)
result = SoapObj.Authenticate_XML(“123456”,“password”,0)
Msgbox result
the agent has unrestricted rights.
I run the agent, and get the expected response back from the web service.
I have the following in a web query open agent in a form (again, unrestricted)
Dim session As New notessession
Dim doc As notesdocument
Set doc = session.DocumentContext
doc.output1 = "test output"
'----------------------------------------------------- the following works in the client -----------------
Dim result
Objname = "MSSOAP.SoapClient"
Set SoapObj = CreateObject(objname)
Call SoapObj.mssoapinit ("http://testserver/UserAuthentication/Authenticate.asmx?WSDL")
result = SoapObj.Authenticate_XML("123456","password",0)
Msgbox result
'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
doc.output = result
when I open the form in the browser from the server, the server shows the error
17/10/2006 17:56:11 Agent ‘tim_ls’ error: Cannot create automation object
Has anyone any ideas why this is happening.
I need to be able to use this web service from Domino.
If there is a better (i.e. working) way to do this, please advise - e.g. Java etc. I am finding this whole thing about using web services from Domino very confusing!!!
TIA
