Connection to third party system

Hello,

We’d like to send emails directly from Lotus Notes to a third party system (on SMTP port 25000). So I’ve created a foreign SMTP Domain to the target system with the following settings:

Routing:

Internet Domain → xx.domainname.int

Internet Host → IP address of target host

In addition, I’ve changed the outgoing TCP/IP port for SMTP mails to 25000

As next action, I’ve created a connection document to the target system:

Connection Type → SMTP

Direct connection

Target Server: xxx.domainname.int

Target Domain: Foreign SMTP domain

IP address of target system

My problem is that I receive the following error message when I send an email to username@xx.domainname.int:

5.1.2 - Bad destination host ‘DNS Hard Error looking up xx.domainname.int (MX): NXDomain’ (delivery attempts: 0)

Any ideas how to solve this? Did I perhaps forget sth?

Regards,

Gerhard Adelwarth

Hi Gerhard,The first question to address is what response do you get when you do an NSLOOKUP on the host,

xx.domainname.int.

The 512 errors seem to be coming from your DNS server.
