Background: I have created a form that has a basic email to button, that when clicked it sends an email to the selected address.
I have configured the client location to Send directly to the Internet. The location and account are configured to use an smtp.gmail.com account.
When I connect to the internet via my home ADSL or any wireless internet cafe network, on opening the notes client, clicking the send email button, the email is sent immediately. It works great!
But when I connect in my office LAN ie. behind office router/firewall, I click on send email and it tries and tries until it says “The connection has timed out” error “Failed with smtp.gmail.com”
The email then sits in the local smtp.box until I connect to another internet connection (not office), when it then goes immediately.
I can ping OK the smtp.gmail.com server from the office LAN.
I have increased the port timeout to 120 seconds.
Any suggestions PLEASE?
