Connection Documents

Hello all:I am running two server. A 6.0.3 mail server and a 5.0.12 Application server. I have connection document created for all the user to access both server in and out the office.

One of my user using Win XP on is laptop cannot connect in the office to the application server. The database that he is trying to reach always switch back to local. I did remove the outside connection document and all remaining of the outside IP address but it seem to still find out somewhere so it get unavailable while working in the office. I also created an Host file to the server with the internal IP. Still not working.

Any idea?

Thank you in advance,

Patrick

The cache.dsk is probably still remembering the invalid ip address.

Technically you can type the ip address of the desire server in the open dialog box. It is a very non-standard way, but it may get the desire results. it should slow resolve the server name’s once it connects to the server via the open dialog box.

Already tried to go with the IP instead of the name and it didn’t worked. Forget about the cache.dsk.I will start by that first.

Thanks

Have you tried a local connection document on the user desktop going to the specific server?

Lotus Notes will look at local connections document, local host file/DNS (in the order you have your desktop work), then the home server to see if there are anything to help it find the server.

Hope this helps – Cheers
