Connecting remotely to Notes mail

What are the different ways of connecting to Notes mail for remote users?Of course you can do DWA but many will say: “I cannot work offline” well then you can use DOLS but (at least what I’m finding) DOLS replication is very slow even thru high speed link, I do not know why but it takes minutes even thought there is almost nothing to replicate.

Using locally installed client (remote user laptop) he/she can work offline and replicate via phone line – it’s slow and costly, monthly bill for 800 number (pool of many modems) they dialing to is high…

Are there any other ways of doing it??? Sort of like Outlook can sent/receive email to/from Exchange 2003 server over HTTP ?

i.e. I tried to use DAMO in LAN and works fine, will this work also over the Internet?

Any ideas would help

TIA

I access my mail remotely via good old HTTP. As long as your server is accessible and running the service (port 80 open, or another one) then you can get to your email directly, send, and do everything as if you’re online, and it’s quick, cheap.

I guess you did not read my post carefuly or at least did not understand what I’m asking for… I know you can access email directly via web browser when online and that what some of our remote user do, although some of them are disapoinded with the solution as they cannot work offline

well, for some of them (part-timers) company does not supply laptops, so they have voice mail and email with us (DWA) but they have their own laptops (verious OS) and they rearly in HQ…full time employees use acctually Notes clients replicating via notes direct server dialup or DWA, some of them also replication via VPN…

is there better way of doing it?
