I have a database with a form that computes the user’s Organizatial Unit
I want to be able to see those within my OU only AND I want other Supervisors to be able to see their individual groups also. However the formula that I used even thought displays my group only, it also displays exactly the same, that is those in my OU to other supervisors.
How can I achieve this, I am missing something.
Here is the formula I used in the view,
SELECT Form =“INVOICE”& @Name([OU3];@UserName)=@Name([OU3];Supv)&@IsUnavailable($Conflict)
Views that use @UserName and things like @Now or @Today can’t be indexed, or at least not efficiently because the values of those @formulas aren’t constant.
What you may want to consider is creating a view that categorizes by @Name([OU3];Supv). Then embed that view in a form and set the single category for the view to @Name([OU3];@UserName). The view needs to be hidden so the users can’t get to it directly - or it’s at least more trouble to do so. And you need an easy way for them to create your form.
