Configure iNotes to open mail on remote machine

Hello.

I have a 6.5.4FP2 machine (server1) using Domino Web Access Redirect for iNotes for mail files on the local server. Anyone who has a mailfile on this machine can access their mail via iNotes, both locally, and from the Internet. This machine is using NAT to allow Internet users to access their mail from this box.

I’ve configured a second 6.5.4FP2 machine (server2) on our network in the same Domino domain but on a different subnet. Anyone who has a mailfile on this machine can access their mail via iNotes, but not via the Internet. It uses Domino Web Access Redirect as well. Server1 and Server2 have no issues connecting, or replicating.

Both machines answer to https://webmail.mycorp.com, and DNS is configured to give the proper IP to users in each subnet, and for external users on the Internet.

The problem is that iNotes on server1 cannot open mailfiles located on server2, from either server1’s subnet or the Internet. All I get is a 404 error. Server2 users need to be able to access their iNotes via the Internet, which is serviced by server1.

How to I configure server1 to open mailfiles in iNotes for users who have their mailfiles on server2? I’ve tried single server, and Multiple server authentication, and fooled around with the server settings in iwaredir.nsf, which is currently set to Fixed, with the FQDN of the webmail listed below.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
