The widgets view has an option to Configure a Component from > A Notes view, form or document. However when I open a form, the icon to Configure a Widget from Currrent Context is dimmed. The icon is not dimmed when a view or document is displayed.
Clicking the icon when a document is displayed present a Open a Notes view, document, or frameset radio button with a field for entering the Notes URL, such as:
Notes:///852573E100752A39/A8164B21615A9C6D852573D8006A1DD2/5AA1A3BF3EB55471852573D10079104B
To link to a form, I can then edit the URL as follows:
Notes:///852573E100752A39/myform?openform
This actually works as a widget, but it’s awkward to create. Perhaps the option under Configure a Component from… should be Notes view, document, or frameset.
However, having a Notes form as a widget seems like a very logical thing to do. And to be able to submit it with live text, like is possible with web forms, seems like the first thing someone would want to do. In fact, I’m a bit surprised that the web form can be submitted with live text but a Notes form can’t. These could be configured with composite applications, but the web / live text interface is much simpler than wiring composite apps, in my humble opinion.
