Config Notes client show:Invalid directory name or device not ready

when I config some colleagues the Notes client first time,show follow error:Invalid directory name or device not ready.I searched but did not find or understand how to fix.

I don’t find C:\notes\Notes.exe “%1” in NotesFile

registry of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

I think the Notes program not write to the registry.

the Notes user is not the OS administrator.but most of these is OK.

how to fix this problem?

Subject: device name not ready

Hello,

We had exactly the same problem since we’ve started to deploy notes client 8.5.3

it seems, it comes from the default web browser not set as Internet explorer.

we force the system to keep IE as default and the message disappear.

I’m still looking for the reason and another work arround, but this problem seems to be quite new.
