Compress Database design and Data

Hi,

I am thinking to enable the options to compress design and data to improve network bandwidth, is this a good move?

will this, compress designs and data and sends compressed information from server to client then the client decompresses and vice verca?

Subject: what about Network consumption?

So I understand that these 2 options will shrink size of the database, I can presume that it will also decrease network consumption as the server/client will support the compression/decompression mechanism.

How does this defer from the option “Compress Network Data” already available on the port configuration that can be enabled on both server and client. would these 3 options work together?
