Well for the the 10th time I’ve actually tried to go through a composite application tutorial (Steve Castledine’s article regarding updating the journal db to use the new Notes 8.x look and feel). I always end up getting stuck somewhere.
This time I open the nsf, then try to go to Actions\Edit Application. After selecting that I see the progress bar and what I notice is that it gets to “Displaying Composite Application Editor…” then dies with an error:
‘Displaying Composite Application Editor Window’ has encountered a problem.
Error
I click the details button and all it displays is “Error”. Nothing else. I can reproduce this everytime on two computers running 8.5.1 FP1 (one computer is running XP Pro SP2 and the other is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
I should also Add, if I try it Actions\Edit Application again I get:
CLFRI0011E: Composite Application Editor is already open. You can only open one instance only.
Of course I can’t see if it is open, most likely it’s a zombie process, some locked file, etc. and it’s confused.
I’ve verified that “Composite Application Editor” was selected when I installed 8.5.1.
Specifically I have:
IBM Lotus Notes 8.5
Release 8.5.1
Revision 20091002.1006 (Release 8.5.1 FP1)
Standard Configuration
Which is the free Domino Designer 8.5.1 version. I am wondering if there’s a difference between the retail version and the free version?
Anyone have any ideas?
