Currently my company has bought a new Company that has Domino 6.5 (50 users). I need to migrage all of their mail DB’s to my companies Domino 6.5 environment and retire theeir current server.Am I on the right track here?

  1. Cross certify the 50 user id’s.

  2. Resign the mail databases.

  3. Migrate the databases into my company’s Domino environment

  4. change the 50 user’s loaction documents to point to my company’s environment.

Can AdminP help in anyway?

If so how?

Am I missing anything?

This is the procedure.

  1. Cross-certify your Organisations, not the users.

  2. Copy all person, group and certification documents to your Directory.

  3. Update all person documents reflecting the new mailserver and mail domain(use an agent).

  4. if your new users belong to a different internet domain create or update the Global domain document an check configuration documents for SMTP inbound control, this will ensure that your new users will continue to recieve internet mail.

  5. Copy all Mail-db’s and set Access control in all Mail-bd’s, your mail server should be the administration server for all mail-db’s.

  6. Uppdate all location documents reflecting the new mailserver and maildomain

AdminP does not provide for a cross-domain Person move.

Hope I have remembered the correct procedure.

…there is some excellent Lotus Documentation that covers this process. I think it was for R4 or R5 but it is still very relevant, and I have used it’s associated check list several times.

I have read this document but it’s not clear the step 3 when replace the Old PUB and Administration request to the XYZ domain with the new one.In other word it’s clear this opeartion but I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU replicate or syncronize the information between the the two domain.

How you syncronize this information beetween the names of XYZ domain and the names of ACME domain??
