I have a database with the following name ‘database part1.nsf’. The database name has a space withing its name. It seems that the compact cannot work.If I remove the space then perform a compact and rename it back again with the space in order not to effect users’ database links. Will it effect the UNID?

Instead of renaming the Database to remove the space, run the Compact Utility with the name of the Database in double-quotes. For example:
load compact “Database Part1.nsf” -c -i
