HiWe just made our Domino 6 test server the adminisration server. Since then, the compact task runs every 10 minutes. We tried to stop that by scheduling the task but it still runs all the time.
How can I stop that?

Are you sure you don’t have other software invoking it?
Was there a repeat interval on that schedule task?

HiWe checked about everything we could think of, including what you suggested and a lot of things from the Notes.Net, but we can still not find the reason for it.
Any other idea?

As a starting point, ensure that it is the server that is starting compact and not some other process. Either look at a ps output or look at the pid.nbf file in the data directory.

This tells you that EVENT is starting compact, so that’s a big clue to the source of the problem.

That was it. Thank’s a lot.We had an event that was there for years to compact all databases if one was below 90% and nobody knew anything about it. Since the upgrade we have some databases which can not be compacted (some multiple end of file problem). That triggered the event every 10 minutes.
Now everybody is happy again and the boss will not buy an exchange server ;-))
